HOW DID WE START?

Established in 1986, when a group of parents disheartened by the lack of provision for their own children with disabilities formed Pegasus. It has grown into a well-established community voluntary scheme. We provide open access for disabled children and young adults, providing them with opportunities to meet new people, make new friends and experience different activities. Pegasus provide Good Quality support and services for all children but particularly valuable for the disadvantaged and disabled. Our scheme benefits children and young adults aged between 8yrs and 21yrs with disabilities, access facilities not provided anywhere else in the area. We help our children develop independence. Whilst keeping them active and healthy. We use sport and exercise to strengthen communities and provide opportunities for people who are excluded or disadvantaged.

We are Ofsted registered and are well respected in the local community. Enabling not only the local children with disabilities to engage in active pursuits but encouraging the local teenage youth to volunteer their time. Thus shaping the future of the local youth. We have user involvement due to the start of Our Youth Forum who have monthly meetings and social evening out.

We are a voluntary not for profit organisation with charity status, No 299301.
